The 3-D Home Kit includes complete, 14-inch scale, cardboard model building materials to construct a detailed scale model of your own home—up to 6,200 square feet. With the kit, you can improve the design of your project, save time and money, increase understanding among client, builder and house designer, and avoid possible disappointment.
Model building sheets include illustrations of siding, roofing, windows, doors, skylights, deck, brick, stone, interior walls, stairs, kitchen cabinets and appliances, bath fixtures, landscaping, and even scale people, a dog and a cat. You can build a model of almost any home design with this one kit. The kit also includes a Floor Plan Grid and furniture symbols to help you organize floor plans, decorating and interior design.
New Home
Architects often use a detailed scale model to work on a design and show how the finished project will look. Using the 3-D Home Kit, you can do the same. Your model will let you live with your new home or improvement before actual home construction is started. Sometimes a simple improvement on the model like positioning a large window in the right place or making a room a few feet longer can make a crucial difference in the final project.
The kit is also ideal for customizing an existing set of blueprints.
Remodeling & Home Additions
The 3-D Home Kit is especially useful for planning an addition or remodeling project. First build a model of your existing house. Now the fun begins: use your model to knock down walls, change the roof design, or add a room, deck, new entry, windows, or skylights.
For example, you can plan a new skylight by simply cutting a hole in the roof of the model. Now move a light as if it were following the path of the sun and you can visualize where the sun will shine in your house during each season. By working with a model, you can explore many different designs for your home—from major additions to new siding materials and patterns.
The Floor Plan Grid and model building materials combined provide the two most important tools you need to plan any home building project.
